Well, the season is finally here! CYO games kick-off this weekend for many of our teams and we are looking forward to all the fun. Before competition begins, please take a moment to read the information below.
We ask that you follow our Code of Conduct that you signed at registration. If you have any questions or concerns during the season, our Grade Coordinators are able to offer parents assistance throughout the season. Resurrection CYO has a “24 hour rule”. If you are upset about something that occurs, we ask that you wait 24 hours to gather your thoughts about the incident. After 24 hours, feel free to contact whomever appropriate to discuss the issue.
It is the coach’s responsibility to set the proper example for the kids at all times, especially good sportsmanship and conduct. Our coaches will work with the players to improve their skills and their understanding of the game’s concepts. Long after our children’s time in youth sports, the life lessons learned through their formative years of playing CYO basketball will carry on. Principles of fair play and sportsmanship must govern every game. One of the greatest gifts we can provide is to help the boys and girls end their season more confident about themselves, and their basketball ability.
Coaches notice who is attending practices and repeated absences can impact playing time. Our program is centered on the concepts of respect and commitment. If your player cannot attend a practice or game please let your coaches know so they can plan accordingly.
For all games, Resurrection CYO participants must wear complete uniforms (team jerseys and shorts) with the Resurrection name on the jersey. Jerseys are to be tucked in. If the player wears a t-shirt under their jersey, it must be white. Sportsmanship and Resurrection pride are observable by the kids, by the coaches, and by other parents. Please set a good example at home and away.
